Summary:

There is a thumping under Rodney's bed and a screeching in his closet. There is someone—something—prowling in his room. Though he is not a child, the bogeyman has returned to feast on his soul.

He knows he is being silly. His life signs detector picks up nothing. He's just tired—overworked and stressed. He needs to sleep.

This was so good! I loved the progression of how much Rodney believed the monsters were real, and this line in particular really stuck out to me:

Rodney is the villain in a sea of stories, all told by the victims and the survivors. He can never undo what he did and that is why he can never sleep again.
