"Hey," Sheppard drawled, raising his hands in turn. "I thought you'd be glad of the company. But fair enough if you wanna be antisocial. Just hand over the princess and I'll be on my way."
"The what?" Rodney stared at him, baffled.
"The princess you've got imprisoned up here," Sheppard said, a touch impatiently. "Name of Meredith, heir to the kingdom of Hallona, blue eyes and blonde curls, all that jazz."
Notes: Written for the Stargate Anniversary fest, and for the SGA_Saturday prompt tower (yes, I'm very late for that). I saw that prompt, then, soon after, happened on this tumblr post by girlinyourphone:  "I think a wizard can be a princess sometimes. I mean a tower is a tower"
So this fic was supposed to be short and funny, ha! Several weeks later...
CW: several Wraith die somewhat gruesomely, but then they're the bad guys, here.

The last few weeks have been a bit quiet, and that's okay! We have two entries for the prompts "rush" and/or "tower", and here they are:

[personal profile] melagan gave us Secret Exposure
[personal profile] mific  gave us The Princess Wizard and Fortune's Bastards
[personal profile] wonkyelk  gave us Twin Human Highway Flares and Looking Up, Looking Down.

If you're working on something, you have until Sunday evening to get it posted. Until then, new prompt coming up!

Title:  Twin Human Highway Flares

pairing: mcshep

summary: Sometimes he thinks he ought to want to be different; to be someone else, someone quieter. But the thought of losing this racing, dizzying rush, of his thoughts slipping and faltering, falling off into some pedestrian jogtrot pace, or a trudging crawl, is far more painful still.

I wonder what this might inspire?

For the next four weeks, think about what might inspire you about Stargate Atlantis with the prompts "rush" or "tower" - and get to writing!  I know that SGA had an episode called "The Tower" - so maybe you cn retell that episode from someone else's point of view?  Or weave another story into that timeline?  Or maybe it's an AU where someone is rushing to work and bumps into another character - and that's their meet cute.  There're a lot of options for these two prompts, so go forth and create!
