summary: The three core members of Dex, Emmagen & Sheppard, could be roughly categorised into the Brains, the Brawn and the Boss; except that you could pick any one of them, to be any one of those roles, at various times: or all three at once.

The arrangement worked out very well for them, on the whole, despite some inevitable moments of clashing, due to their strong personalities and frequently varying opinions.

In this case, John was definitely having some opinions about taking on this particular job.
