hey guys:

just FYI, IP logging is now turned off for this this community. it took me a while to figure out how to find the setting yesterday, but it was making me uncomfortable seeing that information, and I'm glad I did it, especially in light of the hooferaw yesterday. LJ made a reverse-face on that point, anyway.

also, lilyfarfalla and I have added an explicit welcome to SG-1 crossovers to the comm rules, just to make it clear we welcome gen and crossover pairing stories from SG-1.

now carry on with this week's prompt: RAIN!

Could you share the secret of how to turn that off for comms? My LJ already had it off, but I can't seem to find how to make sure for the communities I mod. Thank you!!

BTW, I really do love the idea of this comm. I have an idea for "Rain" but unfortunately not enough time to do justice to that particular bunny. Perhaps there'll be an amnesty post at some point. Keep up the good work!!

replace the end comm name with your own. it's the 9th drop-down, set it to "nobody."

we totally stole this comm idea, btw, from sentinel_thurs...lily and I were talking about other closed canon fandoms and how we could join in keeping things fresh and active afterward.

I love this comm, and has enjoyed reading all the fics and seeing the art created with weekly prompts!

Got a question, although. Are crossovers with different fandoms allowed? *if not, then is fusions/AUs allowed? I.E. McKay & John in say for example Hawaii Five-0 (but no characters from H 5-0)?

Also, is crossovers with Stargate Universe allowed?

The reason I asked is that I got an idea for the latest prompt and wanted to ask before I type it up! :D

So glad you are enjoying the new comm! We are having the best time.

I spoke to lilyfarfalla and here's what we came up with: fusions/AUs are fine, so are SGU/SGA crossovers. Just no crossovers with non-Stargate shows.

Hope you don't find that too restrictive, but we're all about promoting the Stargate character love right here, right now. We've got a not-so-hidden agenda, there. :)

I will edit our profile to reflect the expanded rules, and I do hope your story idea takes off!

Ps I forgot to add, yes I can totally understand that you would want it to be kept 'stargate' wise and not let crossovers take over etc! I think it's a good job that most of stargate characters can be believable in different AU/fusion esp. If they are well written and mostly kept in-character! Lol

I do love that about our fandom. I read a totally awesome short Numb3rs fusion (damn if I can remember where now) and John was so perfect as the edgy FBI agent I almost swallowed my tongue.
