sga_saturdayWe thought we'd do something a little different this week in honor of Ada Lovelace Day. A quote to inspire you!
"I never am really satisfied that I understand anything; because, understand it well as I may, my comprehension can only be an infinitesimal fraction of all I want to understand about the many connections and relations which occur to me, how the matter in question was first thought of or arrived at, etc., etc."

You may have seen various call outs to the awesome techie women in fandom and our lives, but just in case you haven't, here's a little background: Ada Lovelace is widely held to have been the first computer programmer. Close friends with inventor Charle Babbage, he once described her as "that Enchantress who has thrown her magical spell around the most abstract of Sciences and has grasped it with a force which few masculine intellects could have exerted over it," or an another occasion, as "The Enchantress of Numbers".

NOTE: Don't forget, Week 23 is Amnesty week! So while we hope to see lots of stories/art/vids this week inspired by the quote above, if you an an epic idea that needs a bit more time, or want to revive a half written story for any of the previous 19 prompts, it's coming up soon.

Washington DC when I was a systems analyst at the Pentagon.
Like Ada Lovelace, she was a pioneer in computer science, one
of the first programmers, particularly in COBOL.
She retired in 1966 but Navy recalled her to active duty in 1967
supposedly for a short period of time, but. . . .
