I find it interesting that what links cultures (SF&F & beyond) is people, yet we generally learn about the broad brushstrokes first, and then work our way down. Even the stuff we learn about people tends toward groups, overall dynamics, etc and not individual cases and/or traits. Maybe that's some deep-seated educational structure? Or pervasive attitudes concerning privacy?

In any case, I think Ronon was expecting questions about his day-to-day life on Sateda - after all they wanted to talk with him, right? So there was a kind of impasse, filtered through his POV. I will take accuracy as a compliment *g* Thank you!
