You pull a stunt like he did, even though justified, you ride a desk........and that is like the kiss of death for a pilot......no matter what it entails
My job in the squadron was held by a pilot before.
My chief told me he would rush into the office, sign a stack of
paperwork and then be gone for days.
Finally the XO who oversaw the admin function was fed up and they
demanded a full time paper pusher....
That would be meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
