I think that Rodney knows a great deal, but for oh so many reasons that have to do with fear and a very unhappy past and an occasionlly not so happy present, he doesn't let on what he knows.

And the way I think of it is if John has the gene that lets him in to the city, then Rodney had the gene that lets him into John.
