Title: People to see, Wraith to round up. . .
Author: Sharpes_HussyRating: G
Prompt: Stand
Summary: At times it is necessary to take a stand even when things appear to be against you
Sheppard crawled out from beneath the pile of debris that he had dove into in hast, using it as cover while the Wraith were hunting for surivors of the Dart attack. Odd that the Wraith had not done any beam me up Scotty routine, but instead seemed to be intent on basic strafing; the kind of destruction they did so well. He had no idea where his team was. The last he saw of them, Ronon was searching for a suitable spot to bury himself and although he could hear the plaintive voice of McKay, he could not see him visibly, and hadn't a clue about Teyla's whereabouts. He hated this separation as many thoughts crawled through his mind including one featuring his team as objects of Wraith trackers. Then he noticed something else disturbing. He was covered with a mixture of dirt, leaves, and something that stuck to his BDUs, tact, and worst of all, his P-90.
CRAP!
His facial expression reflected his extreme annoyance as he inspected his weapon to see if it needed cleaning, which he found extremely humorous given the surroundings. To field strip his P-90 presented a lot of problems. It would be almost impossible to do an adequate job given the wind. It was blowing and that meant a lot of FOD, as debris was referrred to in aviation. It was flying around, likely to stick to every surface, as it had stuck to him already. As he debated the dilemma further, he heard rustling nearby. Taking position behind a nearby tree, he waited to see who, or what, was coming and not very quietly either. Carefully peering around the tree, Sheppard hoped that it was friendly because right now his weapon might not be much use. Ronon stepped through the vegetation, scowl on his face, as he attempted to brush off the same debris Sheppard had picked up. Without looking up, Ronon stopped and began inspecting his blaster probably wondering like Sheppard if it would function properly. When he looked up, he saw Sheppard as he stepped out from behind the tree, and said in a deadpan voice, “I wondered what happened to you.”
Before Sheppard could reply, Ronon continued, “Let's find McKay and Teyla so we can get some Wraith before we head back.”
Get some Wraith? That sounded like a pit stop for fastfood.
Never one to waste a chance to wreak revenge, Ronon was now fully smiling as he took point, but in Sheppard's mind it was somehow feral; actually quite unpleasant.
